When the Tuition Billing Method of a class is set to By Class Fee, tuition is posted using the amount defined in the Tuition Fee field on the Summary tab of the Class record.
If all of your classes are billed based on the tuition fee assigned to each class, you will select only the By Class Fee method in your Tuition Settings (Tools > Edit Settings > Tuition Settings). Jackrabbit will set all existing and future classes to have a Tuition Billing Method of By Class Fee and will hide the Tuition Billing Method field on the Class record > Summary tab.
If you have some classes that are billed based on the number of total hours in class, and you have also selected the By Total Hours Billing Method in your settings, you will need to ensure that each class is assigned a Tuition Billing Method.
Classes that do not have a Tuition Billing Method assigned are NOT pulled into tuition posting; no fees will be posted for the class.
Tip: Use Edit All Classes from the Classes menu, and the search criteria Class Tuition Billing Method = No Value, to locate classes that do not have a Tuition Billing Method assigned.
Discounting Classes with By Class Fee Tuition Billing Method
Multi-Class and Multi-Student discounts, or a combination of the two, are applied to tuition fees for classes with the Tuition Billing Method of By Class Fee using Discount Rules.
Each Class with a Billing Method of By Class Fee must have a Tuition Discount Rule assigned to it (Assign Tuition Discount Rules to Classes).
If there is no rule assigned to a By Class Fee class, the Tuition Discount Rule will default to "No Discounts" and tuition will post in full.
Tip: Use Edit All Classes from the Classes menu, with the search criteria Class Tuition Billing Method = By Class Fee and Class Tuition Discount Rule = No Discounts, to locate classes that do not have a Tuition Discount Rule assigned.
