Editing a Policy

When you make changes to a policy’s name or text, Jackrabbit checks to see if any parents have already agreed to the policy.

  • If any parents have agreed to the policy, Jackrabbit automatically makes the edited version the CURRENT version, expiring the one before it, so it is considered a PREVIOUS version. The next time a parent logs into the Parent Portal, they’ll be required to agree to the CURRENT (most recent) version. This ensures that parents are always agreeing to your most recent version of a policy.

  • If no parents have ever agreed to the policy, Jackrabbit allows the edit without expiring the CURRENT version.

Previous versions of a policy are viewable on the Edit Policy page for your reference.

Consider adding a revision date below the text when you edit a policy, so it’s clear to parents that they are required to agree again because the policy has been revised.
