Offering drop-ins is a great way to fill empty class spots and create additional revenue. With Class Drop-ins, you can schedule one-time student visits directly in Jackrabbit - no extra setup or billing hassle.
This feature is off by default and must be enabled per class. Once it’s turned on, you can schedule drop-ins from the Class or Student record, apply an optional drop-in fee, and track multiple drop-ins per student. Each drop-in is excluded from class-based tuition fees to simplify billing.
To enable drop-ins for a class, go to the Summary tab of the Class record and set Allow Drop-ins to Yes. You’ll then be able to schedule a single visit with an auto-filled drop date and optional fee. (Coming soon: Parent Portal access for drop-in scheduling!)
Class Drop-ins are available as an early access feature in Jackrabbit Labs. This feature is still in development and may change as we refine it. Try it out and share your feedback to help shape the final experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will drop-ins be allowed based on available spots in the class?
A. Yes. Drop-ins follow the Max Size setting for each class. A drop-in can only be scheduled if the class has not reached its maximum size on that specific date. If a class is full on a given day, you won’t be able to schedule a drop-in for that day.
Q. Is there a way to designate how many days in advance class drop-ins can be booked?
A. Not at this time. There isn’t a setting to control how far in advance a drop-in can be scheduled. You can book drop-ins for any future date if the class has available space.
Q. Will the registration fee still be charged by default for the drop-in class?
A. No. Registration fees are only displayed for preview during drop-in enrollment and are unchecked by default for posting. They default to $0 and can be edited in the drop-in modal when booking. If needed, you can adjust the fee or choose to post it during the workflow.
Q. Will there be a way to add the drop-in calendar to our website as a plug-in?
A. The drop-in feature is currently in beta and available for staff use only within Jackrabbit once enabled via Jackrabbit Labs. Currently, there isn't a way to embed a drop-in calendar on your website.
Q. Is there a way to block off specific days from drop-in enrollment, like holidays or closures?
A. Drop-in enrollment follows your Closed Dates settings, just like regular class enrollment. If a class is marked as closed on a specific day, no enrollments, drop-in or otherwise, can be scheduled for that date. Closed Dates are managed at the class level, not by enrollment type.
